Ritual features the work of six emerging artists who explore a range of mediums, including painting and ceramics. As winners of The Willesden Gallery Curatorial Open Call 2023, the recent Newcastle University graduates unite in their aim to evoke contemplation and introspection, encouraging visitors to explore their connection with time through observation of the natural world.
 
The artists consider ideas of deep time, trying to conceptualise its enormity by bringing it to a human scale. The exhibition’s title ‘Ritual’ reflects the ways that humanity breaks up, and measures time. As well as the cyclical rhythms that characterise nature. By examining aspects of their immediate environments, each artist contemplates the connection between time and nature, employing a diverse range of techniques to convey their own unique interpretations.
 
The exhibition will be on display from 1st August to 1st September with an opening night on Wednesday 2nd August from 6-8:30pm for celebration and drinks!
